Biography

A longtime advocate for community service in Athens, Rev. Lawson leads the Council's programs and stewards its mission.

Leadership experience

• Presides over the AAHRC Executive Board of Directors
• Chairs the annual MLK Awards Banquet planning
• Represents AAHRC in regional civic and interfaith gatherings

Community involvement

Our president participates in faith-community life across Athens, supports local education initiatives, and champions youth programs that carry Dr. King's philosophy of nonviolent social change to the next generation.
